Email notification not working right

Hi, the email certification is not working right, I have registered and what happens is that it doesn’t send me an email verification notification. It just signs me in. And when I try to sign in with that same user email without it being verified it gives me an error saying, Your account is not active.

I have enable the login after verification, I’m not sure if I am suppose to apply the short code thats code that’s on this
Account Verification Page if so where exactly should I add it on?

The Enable User Verification which is enable. Not sure what I’m doing wrong. Can I please get help.
