Email not being sent by WP-EMail plugin

  • I’m using WP-Email 2.31 with WP 2.5x on IIS 6, Windows 2003 server with Mailenable email server.

    I’ve selected PHP as the method to send email since SMTP seems to completely fail.

    When I run an Email a Friend test, everything appears to work and WP-Email throws up a success message however the delivery fails at the server with this error:

    Reason: Remote SMTP Server Returned: 555 5.5.2 Syntax error. 27si89984wfa.50

    Reviewing the logs I see that message is being sent to:

    <Me <[email protected]>>

    It should be sending just to: <[email protected]> but it’s wrapping the users posted name with an extra set of < > and I think that’s what’s screwing it up.

    Any idea how I can fix this?
