    Hello there.
    please help
    I keep getting this error.

The response from the remote server was:
535 5.7.8 Username and Password not accepted. Learn more at https://support.google.com/mail/?p=BadCredentials g188sm639285oia.19 – gsmtp

whenever I Send a Test Email, the error shows up 1 out 3 with the actual content.
I recreated a project and sat up the OAuth Client ID and consent.
I have also turn on/off less secure app accesses from google. I still cant get rid of the error.
I believed the error came after I changed my Gmail password.
they said to restart the process in order to get it working.
I have done all the troubleshooting steps.

please any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you
Sorry for my English. Hope you understand.

    Hi @coriassphenix,

based on the error you are getting, I would say that you are using the “Other SMTP” mailer in our plugin settings, right? And you are trying to configure the Gmail SMTP?

Are you using the same Gmail email address for the “SMTP Username” and “From email” plugin settings? Do you have the “Force From Email” checkbox enabled?

Why don’t you try to set up our “Gmail” mailer? The emails will be sent via their API instead of the SMTP protocol, which might improve the email sending and deliverability. I would recommend trying this approach by following steps in this guide.

    Have a nice day!
