• I have been using the ‘Twitter Auto Publish” plugin for several years without any issues.

Just yesterday, I received an Email from Twitter that says:

“This is a notice that your app – IORG-Twitter-Autotweet – has been suspended from accessing the Twitter API.”

I went into my Twitter Developer dashboard, and I see that
“This App has violated Twitter Rules and policies. As a result, it can no longer be accessed. An email has been sent to?xxxxxx*****.com?with details. For assistance, submit a?support ticket.”

Any ideas what the issue could be?

    Regards,

    Michael

  • Twitter has automated systems that find and disable abusive API keys in bulk.May be your application got caught up in one of these spam groups by mistake.?

Please create a support ticket at https://help.twitter.com/en/forms/platform/suspended-or-restricted with your app details .

    Hope this helps.

Nothing to do with plugin. This past week, Twitter disabled all old ‘apps’ which used the 1.1 API. You need to login to your account, delete old app and project; then make *new* project, new app, set permissions, generate new keys; then use the new credentials in this app.

    Hi @neotrope ,

I have clients for same issue above, and read your comment is enlightening to me. Would set up new free project from API V.2 be solving the issue? As my client’s issue is now not able to dipslay any tweet in the homespa as they got message from Twitter as mentioned above. Please advise me, thanks!

    Best,

    Niki

Yes. last Saturday I setup three new API 2.0 project and app for three different sites which got the same notice. Twitter should have sent out an “your AP 1.1 account will be disabled on Friday, time to switch to 2.0” but instead they just sent out violation notices under the MUSK REGIME ?? But yes, you basically need to delete old app, then old project, then make new project, new app, and redo permissions and generate private key, then put those NEW credentials into this app, and it works. Been running all week with zero hassle. ??

Hello, I also encountered the same issue. May I ask, if I delete the old API 1.1, how can I ensure that users can still log in with their previous Twitter accounts?

My website uses?login with Twitter , and some users have subscribed to my service with their accounts. If I delete 1.1 and create 2.0, can I ensure that my old users can still log in to their original accounts through 2.0?
