Email error on updating profile

Whenever a user who has anything less than administrator privileges tries to update their contact info in their profile we get an error about the email address not being correct/valid/whatever. The email field has the correct email in it and when I look at the database the WordPress account email and the adi_mail fields both match.

Any suggestions of troubleshooting this?
