    Hello,

    i have installed and setup the plugin yesterday and today @ ~8 o clock the cron job should have started sending aprox. 1300 emails in 100 emails / 2minutes.

    I have started receiving emails with Email Cron Fired at about 11 at 2 minutes interval and they keep coming (altough no email were sent) .. and they should have stopped at about 13-14 emails (batches) but they keep coming .. I have 20 emails now.

    The emails are sent through an external smtp server (the test email arrived succesfully).

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Are there any errors in the queue under Newsletters > Email Queue?

    And you are certain that the email settings under Newsletters > Configuration > General works fine and that the test email arrives?

    Is it possible that your cron isn’t firing at all? If you click “Run Now” in the email queue section, do the emails actually go out? If they do, it means that your cron isn’t firing as it should and you might find this article useful: https://tribulant.com/blog/wordpress-2/replace-wordpress-cron-with-real-cron-for-site-speed/ . Also make sure that you use the WordPress cron in the Newsletter plugin under Newsletters > Configuration > General > Email Scheduling and not server cron job.

    1. No errors,
    2. Yes (Email was successfully sent, your settings are working!) and the test email was received in my inbox.
    3. I have teste both (btw in the plugin, the option states that It is recommended that you use the server cron job as it is more reliable and accurate compared to the WordPress cron.) Anyhow neither the wordpress cron nor the server cron do any good. Same thing (the email remain in que) happens with both.
    ON further tests it gives a no page found if more than 40 emails /2min.

    If i put 5 emails / 2 minutes it sends? but i recive Please turn on SMTP Authentication in your mail client. ibcfocus.nsh.ro
    550-(constructfocus.ro) [89.40.16.11]:40780 is not permitted to relay through
    550 this server without authentication.

    Same error appears with external SMTP server or .. local server?

    The cron doesn’t seem to be the issue maybe the execution time?

    other errors that occur are:
    MAIL not accepted from server,503,sender already given
    503 Too many syntax or protocol errors

    Thank you for your response.

    It looks like an SMTP problem.

    Can you switch to Local Server to see if the emails go out then?

    Alternatively, the errors say that you are not permitted to relay without authentication so you may need to fill in a username/password or maybe the port settings are incorrect.

    Please get the correct host, port, protocol, username and password for your mail server and then make sure that you fill in all the correct settings into the Newsletter plugin under Newsletters > Configuration > General > General Mail Settings.

    The SMTP login data are correct (tested with an outlook outgoing setup and also on https://pingability.com/smtptest.jsp.

    Also the test email shouldn’t get sent if the login data would be wrong .. right? And the test works fine.

    I’ll try Local Server too and i’ll comeback with more info.

    Because we spoke on chat, on a ticket on your site and also your team checked my site (with admin pass and everything) … to no avail. That’s why 3/5 and i substracted a star for advertising your own product through your own team here on wordpress. No reason to post here since my issues was not resolve.

    I switched to another plugin that does the same thing and works out of the box.

    You are also the only one out of 45 reviews who left a 2 star rating/review. So there may have been something wrong with the setup or a problem but the majority of the customers are very happy with the plugin as it is.

    What a powerful newsletter plugin. 5/5 stars .. First rate, didn’t check others.

    So what rating should i leave for a plugin that didn’t work for me? I said i would leave 3/5 but since Marietha left a 5/5 i substracted one point. Seems fair to me.

    Marietha is an employee of Tribulant Software but she runs many websites of her own so if she left a review then that is up to her to do so. It may seem like a conflict of interest but it is not because her review was an honest, personal review and rating. Not one delegated by our company.

    It is not for you to decide to justify the ratings that people make in all honesty. I understand what you’re saying but it really isn’t fair. Your review/rating should be based on your experience of the software.

    I’m sorry that you were disappointed and that you couldn’t use the software. Please consider our Newsletter plugin again in the future.

    We really do care and we really do work very hard on making it a good plugin. We are also releasing version 4.5.5.4 now as a stability and reliability release to fix problems that you’ve experienced.
