• Hi,

I recently noticed that Email Content Font set in the plugin does not affect the content text in gmail. In the Pro plugin I can modify the font size/face/color and in the Lite version they are 14px/Verdana/#999 respectively, but regardless, the Gravity Forms notification text shows up as 12px/arial/rgb(34,34,34) in gmail.

Any ideas? The custom font settings work in other email clients (e.g. Yahoo) so I’m guessing this is a gmail-only issue.

    Thanks!

    Hello micahjm

Please do to the WP Email > Template menu – the last Settings box on the open tab is

    + Help Notes

In that box you will see this

    Email Font Render

Important! The a3rev dynamic font editors give you the choice of 16 Default or Web safe fonts plus 364 Google fonts. The 16 Web safe fonts work in all email clients but be aware that Google fonts don’t. Google fonts are fetched by <link> from Google. Gmail and Microsoft Outlook remove all <link> tags and hence default to one of the Web safe fonts. Interestingly iOS, Android Gmail and Windows mobile don’t and Google fonts show beautifully. Go figure the weird and wonderful world of HTM email template design.

    Sorry, I guess I wasn’t clear.

The problem is that not even the Web safe fonts work in gmail. The default is 14px Verdana and when I inspect the body of email I see 12px “arial, san-serif”.

I think the issue is that the font isn’t directly applied to the <p> tags in the email, either inline or in the stylesheet, so Google overrides it with it’s default font.
