• Hello,

I had a problem with sending emails with your plugin and just want to share what I found.
First of all, I use your plugin in various websites since the beginning – almost 10 years. Thank you for your great work!
And that’s why I want to help you to eliminate a strange issue. Usually, I set up custom subject for the emails. For the first time I put a date in the format: dd.mm.yyyy and this caused the error:
There was an error trying to send your message. Please try again later.

Аnd the strangest thing is that this is the subject of only one form but it breaks the whole functionality of sending emails for every form in the website. If I remove the dots from the subject everything works like usual.

Probably is some kind of missed sanitization, I don’t know. But would be good to check it. Meanwhile, I won’t use dots in the subject field. ??

The website works with the latest version of the plugin and WP.

Where can we see the website in question?

    Hi @takayukister,

Here is the page of the website that contains the form (bottom of the page).
Please note that there are more than 10 websites on the same server which use CF7 and they do not had any problems at the time. The current website is working for the last 4 years and has 3 forms in total which have worked without any problems so far. The new form was created specifically for an upcoming event and after this with the date in the subject line, all forms stopped working. So that is how I was able to identify the specific issue.
FYI: before all of this, I disabled the other plugins and checked for conflicts, error logs, browser console, etc.

    See Setting up mail

What email settings do you have in the Mail tab panel?

To protect personal data, hiding email addresses in the settings or replacing them with dummy addresses is strongly advised. You can also include screenshots.

    Dear @takayukister,

I’m well aware of the setting up mail. As I mentioned, I have been using the plugin for many years. Thank you for your reminder.

Here you can preview screenshots of:
    1. NOT WORKING form (that breaks all forms) because of the date format in the subject field – https://www.dropbox.com/s/llycvquopt1zmhp/not-working.jpg
    2. WORKING form because of removed dots from the date – https://www.dropbox.com/s/uvi4jgi5m3nwked/working.jpg

The only differences in the website and its components, settings, etc. are the dots in the subject field.

What other plugins and theme do you use on the site?
