• Hello,
I am trying to utilize the Email Before Download plugin for our website. I have installed the Email Before Download plugin, the Download Monitor Plugin, and Contact Form 7. I have set up all the credentials but when I test the form on my website, I get this error message:
Failed to send your message. Please try later or contact the administrator by another method.

    Here are my links:
Download url: https://www.tersosolutions.com/download/2889/ Download ID: [download id=”2889″]
Contact form shortcode: [contact-form-7 id=”2881″ title=”Download free White Paper”]
Email before download code with correct download and contact form id’s: [email-download download_id=”2889″ contact_form_id=”2881″]

Can someone please help me troubleshoot what might be the problem?

  • Hello,

I would make sure that Contact Form 7 works on its own. WordPress might be having trouble with sending emails. If Contact Form 7 works on its own, can you provide us with a test page with your shortcodes so we can see what is not working?

Thanks for responding so quickly. It appears to me that Contact Form 7 is working – I will say I don’t have a ton of experience with WordPress so there is a great chance I am missing something. Here is a link to the page with the test:

It’s set up to display an inline link.

    Thank you!

    Hello,

It looks like your wordpress instance is not able to send emails. I would recommend downloading “WP-Mail-SMTP” or something similar to test sending emails and correctly configure them.

And to further clarify, Even though you are using EBD to display the link inline, Contact Form 7 Still needs to send an email, which is most likely why you are getting this error message.

Thank you again for getting back to me.

I am pretty new to WordPress so trying to work through a lot of this via online forums, videos, tutorials, etc.

Is there an easy way to use the WP-Mail-SMTP to test my emails or a way to test why contact form 7 may not be sending the emails/working incorrectly. I’ve tried a few things with no success.

I am not sure how to go about testing contact form 7 working or not working on WordPress and configuring the issue.
