    Hi.

    Is there possible to remove the need of username, and make it as optional too? In case there is no username, email can be used instead.

    Since users are WP users, all users require a username, email, and a password in order to be created as a user.

    Thanks for answering. However, WP also allows users to log in with their email addresses. So it would be great if you can allow username as an option, not a must.

    As of version 3.2, the plugin allows login using username OR email address. The login form label currently only says “username” but that is to let some of the translators catch up to the new label (which will say “username or email”).

    If you want to display the form label to say “username or email” until that text change is implemented there is a code snippet you can apply:
