Email as username

  • Hi Ive been reading the posts here but still can’t seem to find clear answer to this. So how do I remove the username field (or email field) from the registration form and use email as username?

  • I’m interested in this too. My members are couples with each individual having a member record. Some couples share an email address and others have unique emails but don’t want the same email arriving in two inboxes.

    Since usernames must be unique I can’t use email addresses as a username unless I create a fake address like [email protected]. I have created usernames from their address and first name e.g. 2777firstnameStreetname.

    It would still be helpful if an email address could be used in addition in all instances where username is called for, and for the prompt to say “username or email address”.
