    Hello all,
I am using contact form 7 in a theme. The sending of the mail is alright, everything works fine except that always the ?Failed to send…“ message is shown which is quite confusing because in fact all mails that I tested always arrive.

    Anyone had the same issue?

I cannot find anything around similar to this.

    Thanks a lot

    Hi buzztone,

still struggling with the wrong “Failed to send…” message on my contact form 7 forms. (still email – thanks god – do arrive, yet, I had to hack overwriting manually a success message in the failed message field)
I installed postman-smtp now but got this error:
“Postman: wp_mail has been declared by another plugin or theme, so you won’t be able to use Postman until the conflict is resolved”
I wonder how this plugIn could help me to debug, if I don’t want (pure fear) to switch the whole email(contact form system)
Quite frankly I also do not understand the setUp postman asked me to do.
    For example:
“Enter the email address and name you’d like to send mail as.”
What does that mean. I do not want to send emails with wordpress.
The users of the site have to fill contact forms to send emails to my client. That’s all.

Damn, that email stuff fears the hell out of me.
My horror scenario is user writing mails to me clients, confirmed that mail is sent, and may client don’t receive it.

Thanks for any ideas or explanations around this message bug.

you are confused. It’s not you personally who will send the emails. It is the website that will send the emails. And those emails need to come from an email address. For example [email protected]. Enter the same address you used when you setup WordPress. You can find that address in Settings > General.

The plugin installs an email log that will give you more details of why Contact Form 7 is failing to send an email.

Postman: wp_mail has been declared by another plugin or theme, so you won’t be able to use Postman until the conflict is resolved

This means you already have a mail plugin on your system, and it’s failing to work. You will probably need help from someone, as you seem to be in over your head.

    Hi Jason,

thanks for your kind reply and explanations!
Do you have an idea which plugIn this could be?
Here is a list of all what I have in use:

For I couldn’t get ahead with this problem I now use the wp-mail-smtp plugIn sending mails via SMTP as it seems. Works perfect. No more hassles.
