Email and newsletter plug-in?

    Hello everyone,

    I’m trying to add a subscription form similar to the one at the bottom of the wordpress site. Trying to collect email addresses for those interested in receiving a newsletter from those interested in my blog. Is there a plug-in or other way for this that will easily collect email addresses?

    Plus once I collect email addresses is there some sort of newsletter generator or program that will email info out to subscribers?

    Still using WP 1.5

    I saw this too, but its a commercial site selling the plug-in for like $295. thanks, though. anything free out there?

    $295, wow it must be one heck of a plugin. I think this is where that old saying, “you get what you pay for” comes in.

    If you wanna save some money and do things manually until Newsletter numbers increase to an unmanagable amount why not set up a simple CGI-script and simple form which will collect email addresses and email them to you as a standard email. A script based on Matt Wright’s formmail script will also send back a “automated” email to the signee confirming their sign-up.
