Email Alert Message variable for user url

    Hi
    Just setting up the Email Alert Message and want to include the User URL. This is the url entered on the form.
    But there is no variable for it.
    Have tried user_url but it doesn’t work.
    As I can’t find these details anywhere on the post created the only way I can get them is in the alert email so any help on how to include that in the email would be appreciated.

    So when I add

    %%post_url%%

    to the setting “Email Alert Message”, and then include the URL field in the USP form, the resulting email alert includes the URL entered by the user.

    That’s how it works normally anyway. Maybe there is something that is interfering on your particular setup?

    Hi Jeff
    I’m sure that when I included %%post_url%% it gave me a link to the actual new post, for example https://pinapet.com/?p=679.
    Now that I know where to find these on the pending post I can always find it in the custom fields. In the email would have been easier, but not essential. I will retest to make sure and let you know.

    Ah, you are correct. Currently the %%post_url%% variable outputs the URL of the post itself, not the URL provided by the user via the URL field. I will add a URL variable in the next plugin update. Thanks for your feedback on this, @greyrocket.

    Just to follow up with this, the next version of USP (20200817) includes a “User URL” shortcode for email alerts:

    %%user_url%%

    When included in email alert subject or message, that will return the user’s submitted URL (when applicable).

    New version should be available within a couple of days. Thanks again, @greyrocket.
