In Wordfence options, I have “Alert me when someone with administrator access signs in” checked. I also have put my own (fixed) IP in the “Whitelisted IP addresses that bypass all rules” field.

I still receive an email warning when I log in as administrator.

I have tried resaving preferences with config caching disabled.

This started happening a month or so back (sorry I can’t be more precise). Any ideas?

The alert emails should normally be sent even for whitelisted IPs. I don’t remember this changing recently — it may be possible that there was a conflict with another plugin that was actually preventing these emails from being sent on your site previously — and updating either plugin may have fixed it.

We have sometimes also seen some hosts block some alert emails but not others, with overzealous spam filters, but it’s hard to say if that was the case here.

    Ok, thanks Matt.

I’m sure I didn’t receive the alerts in the past, and don’t think it’s a plugin conflict or spam filter issue.

I kept the alert on in case there was some unauthorised administrator access, which is unlikely, but it’s good to know I would be alerted if it happened.

It’s not a big problem —?I can either switch off alerts or filter the email, but it would be useful to be able to whitelist my access from a fixed IP.

Ok, thanks for following up. I’ll note this for a possible future improvement.

I’d like to second this request for enhancement… I don’t need to receive an alert when I log in from an IP address I know, or when another administrator logs in from their office IP… because I do receive alerts for every login, I tend to just ignore all login alerts. It would be ideal if I could whitelist IPs so I only receive alerts when an unusual IP is detected.
