I migrated my wordpress site to a new server with duplicator and I was amazed that it worked so well. However, I now realize that it changed various the email addresses and links on the site to the temporary domain of the new server even though I explicitly did not mention any strings to be changed. Why is it doing that and – more importantly – how can I fix it. All my contact emails etc now are [email protected] instead of [email protected]. Although the rest of the process was pretty smooth, I think this is a huge glitch.

  • Hi Chaug,

On Step 3 of the installer there should be an input for a new url, and under the advanced opts an input for the old url. These inputs are exact string matches. So if you have the following in your inputs then it will changes emails as well:

    New URL: temp.mydomain.com
    Old URL: mydomain.com

To avoid changing emails you will need to change it to:

    New URL: https://temp.mydomain.com
    Old URL: https://mydomain.com

    Hope that helps~
