Email address field disappeared on checkout

Hey Everyone!
Out of nowhere, the email address field on the checkout page has disappeared. I did not do anything that caused this, all plugins are auto updated.
This issue was discovered when a customer notified me that international addresses are being rejected by the checkout page – throws an invalid address error or no shipping options available to an address that I had previously shipped to. I tinkered around with turning plugins on and off, and that resolved the address issue. And then I noticed that there is no email field on the checkout page, and no phone # field.
On the woocommerce→ orders page, where it used to show the customer name next to the order #, it is now blank.
I removed and re-installed my payment processor plugin with the newest version, that did not resolve the issue.
