Email (2) autoresponder email address syntax error

Try removing the chevrons: [email]

I tried that, didn’t work so far

what are your complete Form and Mail(2) settings? Can you post them here or take screenshots?

That is strange. [email] is an accepted mail-tag, it will contain the client’s email address, but the validator says the field contains syntax errors??

Yep, in red it says “This field contains syntax errors”

This could be a bug that would need to be reported to the plugin author.

Out of interest, if you test using the from & autoresponder, does CF7 send a copy to the [email] address?

eaglejohn, you are using [email email] in your form. This is not a required field, and when the user left this field blank, the mail recipient field would become empty. The field is not allowed to be empty. Make the field required [email* email].

Thanks, it’s working now. Since there was no feedback (only “Syntax errors”) I was unable to figure this out. Maybe in the next update add some more feedback when an error is found?

Exact same issue here, and I have always had email field set to required field. Always showing as Syntax error in Mail(2) settings

Form:
