I did a few searches and couldn’t easily find anybody else talking about this. Maybe it’s just a bug. I’m really not sure.

Anyway, on my WordPress site, it seems that WordPress renders any spaces between two em or en dashes as  . It also does it when using three hyphens (which render as an em dash.)

Because of this, whole sentences are being treated as a single word, causing line breaks in very strange places.

If you’d like to see what I’m talking about, you can see it on this page: https://twincitiesgeek.com/2017/02/gamecraft-is-a-digital-whirlwind-of-creativity/

(Scroll down to the paragraph that begins, “Another team’s effort”… You will find the instance a bit later on, “He added that with a team of seven designers—Adia Alderson, Sara Ferret, Beth Korth, Charlie Mackin, Troy Strand, and Abdiwak Yohannes—most of whom had never met”. Look at the source code and you’ll see it. The plain text editor view of the post just has spaces here, not  .)

So… is this a bug? Or, any suggestions for how I might be able to fix it via a filter or something?

Should I assume because you moved this topic into Fixing WordPress that it is not a wsyisyg/rendering problem with wordpress core, but actually a problem with my theme? (I didn’t know a theme would do this but I guess maybe a function could.) Then again, it does the same thing in twentyseventeen.
