  • Go to Appearance, Widgets. WordPress shows Search, Pages, Links, Meta, etc. by default. If you add a widget the default will go away.

Use search – the answer was there.

I wish that were the case, but after doing that I have TWO META widgets. I had read that earlier, but it didn’t work for me.

In sidebar 2, you are correct – 2 meta but if these are not listed in appearance, widgets they must be coming from your theme or an error. On line 55 you have some code that is incorrect <li id="recent-comments" class="widget widget_recent_comments">

So although you have eliminated Meta, it is still in your code. Perhaps something didn’t get saved correctly when you removed the widgets?

What is the best way to correct that? I am not proficient at coding.., but I can fumble my way through.
