Eliminate render-blocking JavaScript and CSS in above-the-fold content

well, with autoptimize:
* uncheck “force JS into head” (you’ll probably have to tick “aggregate inline JS” as well)
* check “inline all CSS” (easy but not always optimal) or “inline & defer CSS” (better but more complex)

have a look at the FAQ for more info and don’t hesitate to post in the support forum if you still face problems.

Thank you very much for your help.

I did want you said for JS and I am still getting the same results from Google.

I did check “inline all CSS” for CSS and still getting same results also.

The “inline & defer CSS” is a little over my head because I do not know were the find the CSS code that I need to past in here. I have been using Dreamweaver HTML from years and this is my fist wordpress site. Do I need to look at every page code to do this or is the one style sheet I can pull this from?

well, you seem to have turned off autoptimize again, so I can’t comment on what is or is not happening really ??

Sorry about that, I turned back on autoptimize and disable W3TC CSS & JS minification under CSS and JS main settings. I also Cleared the Cache.

Under “HTML section” in W3TC there is a check box for
Inline CSS minification
Inline JS minification
I also unchecked these, was that needed? After this my page speed score went down

In Autoptimize settings I check these 5 boxes:

JavaScript Options
Optimize JavaScript Code?
Also aggregate inline JS?

CSS Options
Optimize CSS Code?
Also aggregate inline CSS?
Inline all CSS?

Good news is this fixed my JS problem and cut down my CSS problem, however there is still some CSS problems

these cannot be aggregated by AO; the google fonts one because that is external css, the 3rd one because that is not a static file.

for the google fonts ones, you could either tick the “remove google fonts” option in AO or if you really really really need those fonts, you could try google webfonts optimizer plugin.

Frank you are a very good man, thank you for all your help. Looks like all my major speed test issue are fixed. So PageSpeed Insights by Google dose not like Google Font, very interesting.

I figured it out, well I didn’t but I seen somewhere that your W3 total Cache needs to have the minify’s, html, js and css disabled, unchecked. Then I checked it in AO and ran my PageSpeed Insights test and there’s no render blocking :)… Score went up from 64 to 80 on mobile.

Can someone help? I am using Autoptimize. and I am still getting these errors from Google Page speed insights:

I you would have read some the comments above @hahngr you would probably have found answers to most or even all of these .. ??

* external CSS/ JS is not optimized by AO (sharethis, googlefonts)
* jquery -> this often needs to stay excluded to ensure your theme & plugins work, but you can try removing js/jquery/jquery.js from the JS opt. exclusions
* the autoptimized JS -> don’t force JS in head
* the autoptimized CSS -> look into “inline all” or “inline & defer” CSS, more info in the FAQ.

Thanks for your quick response. I did read the above recommendations and now I have a score of 71? I tried removing the js query. Now it’s giving me an error of Prioritize visible content now. So, can I improve my website to have a higher score on mobile for Google page insights? Any suggestions.
