I have encountered this problem after I installed phpMyAdmin application and upgraded to latest PHP 7.2.34 version.

Now, when I edit a page in Page Builder, all the existing elements are showing up correctly. However, when attempting to add a new element to any page, there is just grey space added at the bottom of the page and the element is not showing up in the preview or edit mode. Mouse cursor seems to be content aware of the new element, but visually there is just grey space.

    Please help.

Also wanted to add that I have already tried:
    1. Deactivating, Updating, and Re-Activating all plugins – no change
    2. Changing the Theme To twentynineteen and changing it back to Arki – no change
    3. Re-Installing wordpress-5.9.3 from Dashboard/Updates menu – no change

    Hi Pawel

    Thanks for reaching out.

Please, try seeking a working baseline. Unfortunately, deactivating and reactivating plugins isn’t likely to help. The purpose of the test is to see if a working baseline exists.

    – Temporarily deactivate all plugins except for Page Builder and the Widgets Bundle. With only Page Builder and the Widgets Bundle activated, are you able to edit your widgets?

    – If the issue persists with only Page Builder and the Widgets Bundle activated, extend the test by temporarily switching to a default theme. With a default theme activated, edit a Page Builder page, does the issue persist?

    Hi Andrew,

I have tried this with not much luck. I have now resorted to restore backups and this fixed the problem. I guess we will never know the root cause now. ??

    Cheers,

    Pawel

    Hi Pawel

    Thanks for the update.

If you’re unable to locate a working baseline it means we’ve ruled out a plugin or theme conflict. The next step would be to enable WP_DEBUG in the WordPress wp-config.php file (located in the WordPress root folder). That’ll hopefully, let us know what the issue is (provide a distinct error message).

We’re currently using PHP 8.08 on our local development computers. Everything below that is supported. If you’d ever like to pick this up again, please, let us know. We’d be happy to help wherever we can.
