ELEMENTOR styling ?

I am using free ASTRA & free ELEM. I created two pages
1) w astra & blocks & text in para blocks
2) 2nd page w astra & ELEM widgets.
I am experimenting styling the text in these two pages and finding it VERY
difficult and not intuitive.
On #1 I can change text size easily, but not color nor background of para block.
On #2, I can’t get “typography” (text size slider) to work all the time.
The results I am getting seem to me like a corrupt page, cuz I’m changing– page type “theme” backNforth to “canvas”
– the text in widget that seems bad came from a copyNpaste from MS Word
– the appearance of typography slider comes and goes.
As I said I am experimenting with how these damn thingys work.
Is there a setting for cache that could be wrong? Could this cause mix-ups?

I have updated all plugins.
