• Hi helpful people,

So I have created my website and all is well, despite this being my first ever site, except for facebook posts. They come up with my logo, which is a Png with transparency, so it looks baaad.

I created the site in elementor, in ocean WP theme. I have set the featured image on my homepage to what I would like the facebook posts to show. in the object debugging page on facebook I can see that it is only picking up images on my homepage and not the featured image. it is picking up all of them as well, hence the error message I guess?

Error message:he ‘og:image’ property should be explicitly provided, even if a value can be inferred from other tags.

there are other error messages in the same sort of vein but I will just focus on this and hopefully get a better understanding.

I don’t know too much about yeolt but apparently it can help these sort of issues plus some SEO which I think can be an issue for elementor?

    Thanks in advance,
    Josh

  • Hi @jwcreate ,

The error you are getting is because you haven’t set up og tags in your site. Facebook fetches image in preview from the og:image tag and if it doesn’t find that then it will look for other images in that page. So it is a good practice to add og tags.

Yes, you can use Yoast plugin. It will let you set custom image, title and description for the og tags and it will reflect when you share the home page on facebook.

Let me know if you still have any question regarding this.

    Thanks.
