    Hello,

I recently discovered that the directory listings do not load Elementor on the front end. It shows an error (attached). If it’s any help I reached out to Elementor support and they replied with “I’ve checked the Directory listing on the site and replicated the issue. The directory listing seems to be using the default Theme from?Business Directory Plugin?which the Elementor editor does not recognize the default template’s content function thus getting the error.”

It then reverted to what you see in the URL – Elementor builder code.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.

    Hi @tsbweb

Thank you for reaching out about this. I’m sorry to hear that you ran into issues with Elementor and Business Directory Plugin.

Have you purchased the premium modules? Those are required for our integration with Elementor. You can learn more about setting that up in our Knowledge Base here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/business-directory-elementor/

If you have purchased the premium module and still cannot get it to work, we would like to troubleshoot this issue with you further.

Please contact us with a link to this forum thread here:?https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/contact/

Purchasing the premium modules was never needed before, was that a new requirement?

Hi @tsbweb If you are using the Elementor-specific shortcodes in your listings as described in this article, then the premium module is required. If you’re not, it could be a theme or plugin conflict. The Elementor builder is working on our test sites and not displaying code, so this is likely something with the setup on your site.

Theme and plugin conflicts are very common in WordPress, and a conflict test is used to help determine the cause of the issue. Here is an article about how to test for theme and plugin conflicts with Business Directory, which may help pinpoint the issue: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/how-to-check-for-plugin-and-theme-conflicts-with-bd/

Before doing a conflict test, it is a best practice to take a backup of your site before beginning or to do the test on a staging site, in case any settings are changed during the process.

Please try that and let me know what you find.

Hello, @bobbied thanks for your reply! We went ahead and tried via a staging site but had no luck. We disabled all plugins as instructed and switched out the theme, but no luck. The page remained the same.

I also asked Elementor support as well for an alternative and they provided the solution “you can create a new Single Post Template to get the layout you wish and set the “Display Conditions” to “Directory.” Still no luck. They investigated the issue and replied “I’ve checked it and replicated the issue. Unfortunately, it seems that the?Business Directory Plugin?overrides Elementor’s Theme Builder for the directory listing causing the template not to apply.”

Is this something that be fixed?

Hi @bobbied is there any update to this issue? If not I’ll have to use another plugin. Please let me know.

    Hi @tsbweb

Thanks for following up here. We haven’t yet been able to reproduce this issue on our test sites. I have asked the developer for an update so I can give you further information about the status. Thanks so much for being patient!

Hello! Thanks for the update @bobbied Is there any way you can tell me what theme you use for the test site?

    (@bobbied)

Hi @tsbweb We are using the default WordPress 2021 theme.

The shortcodes can be used to display the listing elements separately in Elmentor. These shortcodes are listed under this shortcode list here: https://businessdirectoryplugin.com/knowledge-base/shortcodes/#businessdirectory-listing

The widgets outlined in the article here require the premium version of the plugin to work.

I hope that helps clarify. Please check?that and let me know if you run into more issues.
