If I remove “Meta Tag Manager” once I have added the meta tags I want to add, will it affect changes made with the plugin – e.g. like deleting the changes made?

Hi, once you remove the plugin, tags aren’t shown anymore since they’re dynamically displayed and managed by MTM.

I add a meta tag but I can’t delete it. when remove it I update my page but it did not remove.why?
    how can I remove this?

Can you provide more specific steps as to where and what you’re trying to remove?

I originally installed “Meta Tag Manager” to insert the Google site verification meta code and the Google Analytics script in the header of all pages.
Coming from “old fashion” HTML coding, this was easy (simply enter it in to the header manually in the static HTML pages), but with PHP based “dynamic” pages, I could not find any pages with a header section and came to the solution that “Meta Tag Manager” probably was the easiest way to insert these tags.
However, as I am a bit of a sucker for speed and load time, I want to reduce the number of plug-ins which has to be loaded to an absolute minimum when I publish the pages, hence wanting to delete as many plugins which is not absolutely necessary as possible, prior to uploading the page!
That is the reason for the question – will deleting the “Meta Tag Manager” effect any added metatags and scripts which has been entered using this plugin?

    Hi Lars,

Sorry, I replied to @rkputimas previously… @rkputimas it’d be better you create a new topic and describe more what’s happening.

@larslemming deleting the plugin will also prevent any tags generated by our plugin from showing, since they are dynamically added via our plugin and saved data.

The plugin is very lightweight though, compared to others I’ve used and written, we only load what we need on the front-end to optimize loading. I doubt it would have any notable impact.

Thank you Marcus, I this mean that “Meta Tag Manager” probably will be one of the few “surviving” plug-ins once I upload the side.
The side in question (www.hjertestarterskabe.dk) last night had a load time of about 6 sec. by removing a few unused plugins I have now got it down to under 5 sec. but my goal is between 1 and 2 secs., so there is still some work to be done.
Right now I am focusing on optimising images – without losing aesthetics when loaded.

I can say with certainty that MTM won’t make much of a difference but the best way is to try and see ??
