Edits to Colorway Theme

I am working on a site, studio5602.com, and I want to change the menu hover color and footer color from green to black. What would be the best way to change it? I tried to place code into the “theme options” section but that didn’t work. Maybe I have the wrong code?

Also, I have taken out the code to remove the theme footer & the sidebar on the pages in Editor, but after updating the theme they come back. What is the permanent fix for this?
