Edits to “Authors & Users” Don’t Save

Most of my subscribers have signed up without using their names (by their email account and user name). I need to add their names and change the “Display name publicly as” box to their name so that when they post, their name appears. Right now, every comment appears as anonymous and I have to manually go in and change the name.

But when I add their names and change the “Display name publicly as,” the changes don’t save. It tells me the user has been updated, but they aren’t. I’ve even tried logging in as a user and changing their own name instead of doing it from my name, and those changes won’t save either.

(I use the Red Alt Role Manager, if that is necessary information, but my users all register through WordPress. I locate their profile info through a tab called “Authors & Users” under Users.)
