Edits on events not being carried over from staging to live site
-
Hi,
I’m having trouble with promoting some events from the staging to live site. We recently added an event and edited the dates of some pre-existing events on our staging site, but it was not carried over to the live site when prompted to. We have always carried over the following tables: “wp_options, wp_posts, wp_em_events, and wp_em_locations” and we don’t believe we have done anything different than before. We want to find why the events aren’t updating and to solve it.
I spoke with a WP-Engine representatives a few days ago and they suggested I make a backup and promote the entire staging to live site. However, I am unable to do as we are currently working on the homepage on the staging site and want to keep our subscriptions from mail-poet. Also, they suggested for me to manually add events on the live site, but this would defeat the purpose of a staging site. However, we did try manually changing some dates on the live site, but we ran into another problem where the dates weren’t organized anymore. They used to automatically list the events according to the event date with closer events near the top of each category.
We updated the plugin yesterday and it did not solve the problems either.
When the support looked into the logs, he noticed it mentioned an error stating “long query” which supposedly means the plugin could be taking awhile to run a query from the database. He also suggests that there maybe a table that isn’t being copied over. How can I find information on which table my events are under? Are there any other solutions to my problems?
Would appreciate any sort of help. Thanks!
