Edits in customiser not saving

  • I have a couple of issues with my WordPress.

    No edits I make seem to be saved. Everything looks fine in the editor but as soon as things are saved and I go to see the page nothing has changed. I am making changes to the Front Page. When using one of the buttons it has an additional url added in front of it. So I get a 404 error. But it all looks correct in the editor.

    One of the headings looks perfect in the editor but has a url inserted inside the text. The other day it had a different url and it was inserted in the same heading but a different position within it.

    I have cleared the PHP cache.
    I have tried different browsers and computers.

    I am using Astra theme version 3.7.6 PHP version 8.0 WordPress version 5.8.3

  • Is there a publicly-accessible URL of your site so I can take a look?

    Also, do you have a specific reason for using the Gutenberg plugin? The plugin is not needed to use the new block (aka Gutenberg) editor. The plugin is merely a testing ground for bleeding-edge or upcoming features of the block editor before they’re integrated into the default WordPress core.

    When I was setting up Astra they ask you to choose a page builder. Gutenberg, Elementor, Beaver Builder, and some other one I can’t recall. So it just came with Astra. I didn’t want to use Elementor and wanted to stay as close to WordPress as possible for future growth. What would happen if I removed it?
