• Hi,

We’ve encountered an issue with the “Better Image Sizes” plugin where “editors” are unable to use the “Regenerate” feature due to permission restriction.

    Issue Details:

    • Editors can crop and save images, update the focal point but when clicking “Regenerate”, they receive a permission error.
    • The issue occurs because the regeneration process attempts to clear the cache, which requires access to the plugin’s settings page under Tools > Better Image Sizes.
    • Access to this page is currently restricted to users with the manage_options capability, which we do not grant to all users for security reasons.

    Expected Behavior:

    • Editors (or other non-admin roles) should be able to regenerate images without requiring full admin privileges.

    Possible solution:

Do you have a filter or is it possible to introduce a filter to modify the required capability for accessing the settings page? This would let developers adjust permissions without granting manage_options.

This would help teams that need to delegate image management tasks without compromising overall site security.

Let us know if this is something that could be implemented or if there’s an alternative solution.

Thanks in advance for your help!

    Ross
