• After updating to WP 5.9.3 and performing the requisite db update, one of our testers discovered that users with the Editor role can no longer reach the widgets.php page to do widget editing. They formerly could. What’s unusual is that the widgets option still shows as available under Appearance, but they get a 500 error if they try to visit.

    Things tried:
1.Tried switching to the 2022 theme and while they no longer got a white page, they got a dashboard page with no content save for menus — a white page framed by menus, essentially.
    2. Tried deactivating Classic Widgets plugin. Same as above.

We are using the Classic Widgets plugin. Admins are still able to edit widgets. Did the permissions required to do this editing change, such that Editors no longer have the right capabilities?
