After upgrading to 2.6, some editor toolbar images aren’t appearing at all, others show up very tiny, and a couple show up just fine.

    I posted a screenshot here

Strange things is that the editor works fine on another site that I upgraded as well – exact same upgrade procedure, and same host.

  • Hey I have the same problem, but mine doesnt even show the blank boxes. My other blogs upgraded fine and everything is showing as well on those just not the one.

Turns out that the problem is occurring on the other site as well.

In IE, the toolbar is a bit different again –
The Add Video and Add Media button graphics aren’t appearing. To make things even more strange, when I check the properties of the broken images in the toolbar, the full path looks like so:
    https://www.broken-fish.net/wp-admin/images/media-button-video.gif

And when I ftp to the location, the image is there.
If I put the address in a browser address bar and try to load it, I get a message returned in Firefox stating that the image cannot be displayed because it contains errors. In IE I get another broken image displayed.

Going to blow away the wp-admin folder for the 5th time, and use another FTP client (using Filezilla to upload files) – will see if that makes any difference.

Well, trying another FTP client didn’t make a difference.
Going to download 2.6 again and start from scratch.

I am having the same issue. I don’t have any Image tool bar since upgrading to 2.6. I don’t get any errors like a file is missing. I checked that my FTP’s files are all uploaded. I’m VERY SAD!!

Okay… so I poked around some more and my /wp-admin/js/ directory was incomplete. I uploaded it and the tools come back.

I’ve replaced the wp-admin and wp-includes dir – I’ve cleared the js-cache, my browsers cache, I’ve deleted everything except for my theme, and uploads content, and the toolbar is still messed up.

I also realized today that the wordpress logo on the login screen as messed up (screenshot here)

In the post I made above I tried displaying the WordPress logo in 2 ways – one by setting the src to the logo.gif in the wp-admin/images directory. That got scrunched! To get the image to display, I used the image uploader, and uploaded the file from my PC, using the file from the 2.6 download.

Finally! The editor toolbar images are rendering properly for both of my sites.

My ftp client was set to binary – and I believe the java based ftp client my host has on the panel software was set to binary as well. I deleted the wp-admin and wp-include files again, along with all of the root files, and then re-uploaded them from a fresh download of 2.6
