I’m on wordpress 5.8. I’ve set it so that the Gutenberg editor is disabled for all other roles except for me, the administrator. Now my problem is that, after saving a post in the classic editor, it will automatically switch to the block editor. How do I fix this?

I just tested for both admin level user and non-admin users, and the plugin seems to functioning normally on default WordPress. Most likely there is something (like another plugin or maybe the theme) that is interfering with normal functionality. In such case, the best way of find the source of the issue is to do some basic troubleshooting. I would be glad to provide a guide if it will be useful for you.

I switched to the default twenty twenty-one theme, disabled all other plugins and kept only this one active, yet the problem is still there. Everytime I update a draft or a publish post in the Classic editor, it would switch to the block editor…

Okay please let me know the exact steps to replicate the issue. For example, something like this:

    1) Enable default WP theme
    2) Activate only DG plugin
    3) Choose whatever plugin settings
    4) Visit the block editor
    5) Publish a post
    6) Switch to Classic editor
    7) Etc. until the issue appears

That way I can follow along and recreate the reported issue.

I just tested it out on a fresh WordPress install, and here’s what I did:

    1. Activate default twenty twenty-one theme
    2. Activate DG plugin
    3. Set plugin settings: https://imgur.com/a/E98c76m
    4. Go to Posts > Add New (Classic)
    5. Enter whatever in the editor
    6. Save as draft / Publish

After the page loads, it will then switch to the block editor.

I am seeing it now, specific to the setting “Display Edit Links”. Will investigate further and try to resolve for the next plugin update. In the meantime, just avoid using that “Add New (Classic)” link.

Also: if you recall, was the “Add New (Classic)” link working in the previous version of DG? Or which version it was last working would be useful to know.

@specialk I don’t know. I only started using it recently with the latest version of the plugin

It’s no problem, I found the bug and have fixed. New version will push out later today. Thanks again for reporting, @anonmeimei.
