    Hello again,

we use anchor links to create an index for our lenghty newsletter. The index is part of the content that is placed within the editor. We use the “id=xy” to define the target. This is standard for HTML 5 Code. It works simple like this and was fine with the Mailpoet 2 Editor

    <a href="#01">01 Breaking News</a>

    <h3 id="01">01 Breaking News</h3>

Mailpoet 3 strips id=”xy” out of the source code: <h3>01 Breaking News</h3>
I also tried the name attribute: <h3 name="01"> the editors strips them all.

This is really a mess and for us it is an ultimate reason to stick with Mailpoet 2.
In the advanced configuration of Mailpoet 2 there was the option “Allow HTML edits” Where is it gone?

    Bug or feature?

  • Hey Mashme, sorry for the late reply.

This is not a bug but a “feature”. Thanks for reporting. We might revisit this since we see the purpose.

Thank you dear Mailpoet. Better late then never we say in Germany. ??
Please have a look at this thread too

I think it is directly related. HTML-Code in wordpress content is ignored in total at the moment!

Hi I have the same problem, mailpoet strips the HTML tags.
I changed the margin of keft and right for the <P> tag
In the designer it is shown properly, but within the mail this is gone !
How can I increase the margin for the textboxes ??
There does seem to be a margin as the text is about 5px away from the border.
Can I alter the css of MailPoet to get this done ??
I do not have the parameter allow HTML, but I am using MailPoet version 3.x
    Thanks for your help

Hi! I tried to add anchor links too. Here I read that html edit can be activated in advanced settings. It also says that the option can only be seen by admins with all rights. Well, I am admin with all rights and nevertheless can’t see the activation option. What can I do? I really need those anchor links bcause I have a newsletter with much content.
Any help very much appreciated. Thank you!

“Allow HTML edits” was a Mailpoet 2 feature that has been cancelled with Mailpoet 3. Mailpoet stated “We might revisit this since we see the purpose.” here, three month ago, but hasn’t yet.

It could be helpful when some more users claim to get this feature back!

Full text newsletters really need anchor links for navigation and readability. Please Mailpoet, allow HTML edits, we badly need this!
