• We have two WordPress installs on two different servers, both 3.9.2, the old one a cPanel QuickInstall and the new one a GoDaddy install, but on the new install when we edit a page, there’s no scrollbar on the editor, just a scrollbar on the far right of the web page, which means that if I want to scroll the editor window, it scrolls the page down until the editor reaches the top and then it starts scrolling. This means I can’t scroll the page back up to see the top portions without scrolling all of the editor text up.

On the old install, this doesn’t happen. There’s a scrollbar in the editor window as well. I have no idea how to get the scrollbar back in the new install.

If I set the theme on the new one back to the default WordPress theme, there’s still no editor scrollbar. I’ve gone over a bunch of settings and I’m not seeing how to bring this back.

  • The new scrolling is a ‘feature’ of WP 4.0. Try turning it off by clicking on ‘Screen Options’ in the upper right of the edit screen and unchecking the box for ‘Expand the editor to match the window height.’

    Thanks.

    Not a good feature though.
