Editor Role cannot edit main page of site

  • I am trying to hand off a WordPress design to a client that i have set as an Editor so that they may edit pages and posts. I set his role to Editor and he is able to edit everything EXCEPT the landing page. I have Visual Composer running and it is showing up blank, but works for every other page.

    Theme: Salient 4.8.1(child)

  • This is expected behaviour if you not able to edit page by permissions it also will not be available with VC.

    Found the solution. The Editor role CAN edit pages with VC, but cannot edit pages with certain plugins that VC is using. I used User Role Editor to allow the Editor Role to edit_plugins. The Editor now has access to VC on all pages and it still keeps the Appeareance link hidden from the dashboard menu.
