Editor Menu is Missing – Showing Blank Row

Sounds like cache or css problem. Delete the browser cache and try again. If no luck, right-click on the white row, select “Inspect element” and see what makes it all white.

So cleared cache and its the same problem.

I did inspect element and I’m seeing that the row is not included in the css here is the code:

The editor menu is not the first row. I’m not sure why its doing it?

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling the plugin, but no cigar, still same problem. What else can I do to track this problem down?

One more thing to mention, when I check enable editor menu, that row isn’t there. But, when I do check that row, that row is there but it is white and it doesn’t even show up on CSS. Just trying to give you the most information I can ??

Have you tried disabling the (new in WP 4.0) editor expanding from Screen Options? Sounds like this may be related.

If you’ve checked the “Enable Menu” checkbox you should see the menu on the Edit Post screen. Inspecting the CSS for it (right-click => inspect element) has info about what styles are applied and where they come from, which file and line number.

Would be good if you can take a screenshot(s) of the browser tools showing that info, upload it somewhere and link it from here.

When I turn off the the wp 4.0 editor expanding from screen options, that whole first row disappears, the menu editor that is.

When I turn it on there is a row that is completely blank but nothing there. I tried to inspect element and it doesn’t include that first empty row in the grouping.

It seems to be working now :). Not sure what happened or if there was an update. After months of this issue I finally see the menu editor.

Although now when I try to drag buttons to customize it nothing sticks. None of the buttons can be edited.

Most likely network cache problem. These appear to “magically fix themselves” after some time.

There still could be JS errors somewhere. Try looking at the browser tools (F12, switch to the console). If you see any paste the first one here and I’ll try to figure it out.
