    Hello,

We are experiencing an issue where the web story pages will not display at the top of the web story editor.

It appears to be related to infinite scroll. We can access the pages in the editor when we toggle over to the text blocks instead of WordPress media on the left-hand side.

We updated all plugins, cleared opcache on the server, and no change. We don’t see any errors in the console.

Any ideas of what this issue could be? Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you!

    Kailee

  • Hello and thank you for your topic. Sorry to hear you are having issues I’d be happy to assist you with this.

To help troubleshoot this further could you please provide the following information:

    1. Your Site Health information or You can share privately if you prefer via this form.
    2. Can you see anything else where the Web Story page should be or is it blank? If you could share a screenshot using https://imgur.com/ that would be very helpful.
    3. Do you get the same problem if accessing your Web Stories through a Chrome Incognito window?

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Hi Adam,

Thanks so much for your help.

    1. I submitted the site health info via the form.

    2. Yes, everything else in the web story editor displays as expected. The only issue is that the web story page will not appear at the top of the editor to make changes.

As you scroll down, the web story page keeps popping down to the bottom of the editor: https://imgur.com/zyjNqhb

This is the same for both draft stories and published stories.

    3. Yes, the same issue appears when accessing via an incognito browser.

    Thank you again!

@kaileeg You’re welcome and thank you for the information. It would be useful to know if you are getting any browser console errors while in the Web Stories editor and experiencing this.

@kaileeg thank you for providing this information it is very helpful. Can I just confirm that you are experiencing the same in all browsers you have listed: Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari?

If you are experiencing on several browsers then It’s possible that this could be caused by a plugin conflict so to rule this out it would you be bale to try the following:

Use the Health Check & Troubleshooting plugin and enable its troubleshooting mode. This mode disables active plugins and switches to a default theme safely because it only affects the experience of the logged-in user.

    • Please enable the Web Stories plugin and let me know if the issue is present.
    • Enabling plugins and your theme one by one in this mode may help pinpoint if something else is involved.
    • Note you can disable troubleshooting mode from the plugins page.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

As we haven’t received a response, I’ll mark this as resolved. Feel free to open a new support topic if you continue to encounter issues, or reopen this topic and we’d be happy to assist. Thank you!

@adamdunnage Thank you so much for your support on this. The issue was due to a plugin conflict with Simple Featured Posts Widget. Sharing here to close out the thread. After deactivating it, the web stories editor worked as expected.

    Thanks again!

@kaileeg Thanks for letting us know! Glad to hear that you were able to identify the issue. Have a great weekend!
