• I need an editor for my client to use. I found several listed online – and they seem to be pretty nice – but as far as I can tell none of them use the media library/gallery built in to wordpress. If you want to have photos in your posts you have to give them ftp access to upload the pictures. Then there is no easy way to manage the picture files if a post is deleted it doesn’t clean up the pictures etc and they can’t easily browse the pictures to see what can be cleaned up.

  • What do you mean by “need an editor?”

The standard WordPress editor integrates very well with the Media Library – drag and drop uploading, no extra credentials required, and media can be attached to each post so that you can find it easily. There’s also a search function that can be accessed directly from the post/page editing pane when working with media.

No, I was actually talking about programs like blogjet, windows live editor or blogo. I have two clients that really don’t like the post and page editor in wordpress. One of them found and is using blogjet – which she really likes – but all her thumbnails and pictures are uploaded via ftp and I have to manually clean them up for her from time to time. And we can’t use any of the plugins that make clicking the thumbnail open in a lightbox or other nice presentaion like we could out of the gallery/media manager.

That’s not a WordPress problem, then.
