Editor can’t access backend
-
Thankyou for a great plugin that must have taken a lot of work. However, I do have a significant problem: if I try to go to wp_admin as an EDITOR user it just redirects back to the same page and does not allow me to enter backend admin. With user administrator on a different browser I can always enter backend admin. I’m only using different browsers so that I don’t automatically get logged in as admin on both which happens if I use the same browser.
To do a clean test I installed a new WordPress in domain_name_etc/WP. No plugins and just 2 users; administrator and an editor. Both of which can enter the backend admin on different browsers (chrome and edge) ok.
I then install the Ultimate Member plugin but don’t activate it and I can still enter backend admin with both users.
Next, I activate the UM plugin but I have done nothing else. I have not gone to the UM settings and I have not allowed it to create the pages. Nothing. I can still enter backend admin with Administrator but with the Editor user it redirects to the home page and I cannot enter the backend admin.
I tested on:
– WordPress 6.1.1
– Twenty Twenty-One theme which had no changes
– Ultimate Member version 2.5.1
– Chrome and Edge browsers are currentIn the WordPress General settings I have tried doing the same test with ‘Anyone can register’ turned on and off but there is no change.
Do you have any suggestions as to what else I could try?
