    First off, I am using the User Role Editor plugin, but none of the pertinent options are checked (which would make sense, anyway; i.e., edit_plugins, update_plugins are all off).

    Editor-level users can see Jetpack, settings and all. But editors shouldn’t be activating or deactivating plugins or modules of plugins, especially ones as wide-reaching as many of those in Jetpack. Additionally, the link the admin set up to wordpress.com is not showing up, prompting them to establish the connection. If they establish their own link, what happens?

    I’m down with them seeing site stats, even being able to insert contact forms, etc., but is there any way to remove or hide this admin-level functionality without editing the plugin or wp-admin stuff?

    All registered users can indeed see the Jetpack menu, but they won’t be able to edit your Jetpack settings; only administrators can do that.

    They will, however, be able to link their account with their own WordPress.com account, thus allowing them to use Toolbar Notifications, as well as Publicize for all users with publishing privileges. Rest assured, your Jetpack settings won’t change once they link their account.

    By default, only administrators have access to Site Stats, but you can change this setting by clicking on “Configure” under the Stats module in the Jetpack menu.

    If you don’t want your editors to use Publicize, Toolbar Notifications, or any of the Jetpack features, you could install this Jetpack add-on to hide the Jetpack menu from them:

    I could have sworn yesterday that it was giving them the ability to deactivate things, but it doesn’t seem so now. So, good!

    And thank you. The plugin works as advertised, though I sign on to what one of the other users in the support forum requested, as far as disabling Settings > Sharing (esp. since this is Publicize, isn’t it?). The whole ‘connect to WordPress.com’ thing is a bit confusing, and doesn’t seem clear that it’s only for your personal-level stuff. I wish that was done differently, but it makes much more sense now. Thanks again.
