I have the exact same problem and the above fix does not work for me. Please don’t close this ticket.

The “Disable the visual editor” box is not checked in my profile. If I try and check it and Save (in the hope that it will switch off and back on), it reverts to being unchecked after saving.

I’ve had to install the Classic Editor plugin (which disables Gutenberg) just to post anything at all. Right now Gutenberg is completely broken for me.

Please don’t close this ticket. I have the same problem with a specific subdomain in my multi-site – the other subdomains seem to work fine, but one specific one only shows code in the block (similar to above screeenshot), with no ability to change the block, add a new one or view with visual or code editor (visual and code editor are actually missing in the tools and options dropdown). I want to convert my existing posts in this subdomain to Gutenberg blocks, but have no idea how to get this particularly subdomain to work.
