Hi, I have a superb slideshow going in my sidebar, well I DID until I did an auto upgrade and lost all my photos without backups. The plugin creater says the solution is to “go to admin area and change the XMl file name from “superb-slideshow-v2.xml” to “superb-slideshow.xml”, then it will display your correct images”

Problem is, I can’t for the life of me figure out how to change the NAME of a plugin file. I know how to get to plugin files to edit them, but then you just hit “update” and they are saved with the same name.

Can you please advise as the plugin creator is not responding.

  • OPTION 1: You can log in to your site via FTP and change the file name on your server just as you would on your own computer. If you have never done this, please see this video about installing WordPress via FTP. Note: The FTP part starts at 4:11.

OPTION 2: Many hosting providers enable you to edit your files via a web-based interface. I would recommend calling support and asked them if they provided such an interface.

    Best of luck,
    -Mike

    Mike,
As per your advice, I went to my hosting provider (blue host) and they walked me through changing the file name. This is resolved. THANK YOU so much for your help!
