Editing Simple Melody – help!

Ok, so I’ve been editing the Simple Melody theme and yes before you say anything I have edited some stuff in the master theme and some stuff using a child theme – I know, I know…

I’ve hit a bit of a wall and feel a bit stuck. Here’s what I want to do, but can’t seem to be able to do – I’ve tried SO many things and really thought I had found the right code to edit/the right code to add to the child theme:

Desktop view
-Amend the site description text to the same size as the p text (18px)
-Get rid of the seemingly auto-generated ‘Home’ link
-Middle-align ‘My experience’ (but still to the right) so it’s equal height from top to bottom of the grey header background
-Make link hover text white not black when on the ‘My experience’ page and hovering over ‘My experience’ – only seems to break the style on this page?
-Still on this page get rid of the extra space after the image and before the header (make it the same as the home page distance from grey header to header text)
-Stop my button submit action from having the weird blue border (I’m on Chrome) and stop going really wide when I click the button
-If possible add the hover text underline style to the button text
-Position my email address and phone number one line breaks that reposition nicely when the view if resized
-Have a different link style for p text only (NOT white!)

Mobile view
-Change the colour of the ‘open’ menu block item to the same grey as the header
-Change the word ‘Menu’ to something else
-Add another page (/who-i-am/hire-me, which is sub to the home page which is aka who-i-am) to the mobile menu only
-Remove ‘Home’ from the mobile menu
-Only underline the text of the menu not the whole block!

Any help would be much appreciated!
