Editing Post changes times

  • When a user edit’s its own old post, it comes as ‘Pending Review’. But when the admin publishes that post, it goes on top of all posts (because it takes current time, instead of its original time when it was first posted).

    I also tried to convert ‘pending Review’ to ‘Draft’ via code, and achieved that, but that also does nothing. The time still changes. Any ideas?

    I think this is how wordpress behaves by default. Whenever a post is edited the date gets updated. BTW do you get the same results when using the quick edit feature?

    Editing (full or quick) in the backend does not change the original published date, so does not change its position in the list.
