    Hi guys,

I am currently building a local delivery shop for my dad.
I encountered a little inconvenience: I’m trying to figure out how I can efficiently use the space on the new order admin template.

This is because my dad has an hp printer with eprint, so pages directed to the printers email will be printed. Other services fax it to my dads printer and they have a neat layout with as little space used while still having logo(not important to our case), tables etc. and remaining one-paged

I want to do the same. Tables on top for quick summary, because right now everything is in single lines, which is wasting a lot of free space and doing environmental harm because of the paper used.

    E.G.
    Column 1
    Order nr
    Column 2
    Customer data
    Column 3
    Payment method
    Subtotal

and below the table a list of products bought. And while I’m at it I want to adjust FONT size or thickness as well to highlight if the order was already paid or not etc. AND because my dad’s already a little old and has problems reading the tiny font

I am looking forward to your answers and very happy to use woocommerce although it has been a though journey setting everything up for our unique case. ??

  • Hey @kmrn,

That’s a great question. It is possible to use HTML or plain text emails. The default is to use HTML which gives color and a bit more style. You can change the format by going to WooCommerce > Settings > Emails and clicking on the email you’d like to work with.

The “New Order” email is the one that is sent to the store owner after someone places an order. You can set it to use plain text in the drop-down at the bottom.

    plain text

It’s also possible to edit the template for the HTML and text emails. Right below the drop-down is a spot where you can copy the template file to your theme. Then you can edit the appropriate template from inside the current theme. Whichever email format is selected, the corresponding template will be the one copied to the theme for editing.

You can edit any of the emails you like. The plain text will have a much more stripped-down email to start with.

You might also look at using a customization plugin.

Hope that gets you pointed in the right direction.

    Cheers

    Hi @kmrn,
