    Hi Xnau,

First, let me please tell you how wonderful this plugin is. Thanks for all the work putting into it. You’re really helping many others with their ideas. Where can I support you financially?

Second, I have a little issue surfacing when others are adding a record to the database via the website (the website is phdcourse.info):

There is field where people can add a ‘registration deadline’. I have designated this field as a ‘date field’ Now here’s what happens: when people fill in a date, and save the record, than the date moves 1 day ahead, so 1 day earlier. And everytime I apply a change in the backend of the participant record, the date moves 1 day earlier as well. But really everytime, so when I click ‘apply’ for 5 times, the date moves 5 day to the front.

Also, in the participant list on the WP admin page, the date is correctly showed. Yet, on the ‘edit’ page of the record it shows the date one day earlier again.

I did change the general date settings in WP last week, so I assume this is cuasing troubles, yet, I don’t know how and why. Is there a certain time and date format I should stick to in the WP settings in order to have the database work correctly? Do you or others have experience with this issue? I’d like to fix it, because people are already e-mailing informing me that the system heads its own way ??

Thanks in advance for your help!

What is the date format you are using?

    Hi Xnau,

The date format is: April 10, 2015

And in case helpful, some other info related to time/date settings in WP:

    – Amsterdam timezone (I changed this: it was another timezone before, which I don’t recall)

    – Time format: 8:17 am (no capitals)

    – weeks start on Monday

    – Other info provided by WP related to the timezone:

    UTC time is 2015-04-10 6:17:08
    Local time is 2015-04-10 8:17:08
Choose a city in the same timezone as you.

This timezone is currently in daylight saving time.
Standard time begins on: October 25, 2015 3:00 am.

    Appreciate your help!

    /Frederik

Well, there is nothing there that could be a problem. Are you using the plugin’s “strict dates” setting?

Nope it’s not enabled. Hmm, it’s weird. Especially the fact that everytime I click ‘apply’ to save changes in a record (even if I didn’t change any field), the date goes from May 1, 2015 to April 30, 2015. A second click on ‘apply’ means April 29, 2015, etc. Do you have any ideas left? ??

A bit of additional info: when I add a date in a record (backend WP) that didn’t have one before, than it’s impossible to delete the date afterwards, so it remains in the field, even when deleting and ‘applying’ the changes. I’ll just continue with trial/error to try to solve it..

Date fields won’t let you save a “blank” value, it treats it as an invalid date, and won’t accept the input.

Still stumped about your moving date, I’m unable to duplicate the issue here. Maybe you should try using the “Strict Dates” feature, it requires that all date inputs be in a specific format, and may eliminate whatever ambiguity is causing the problem.

    Xnau,

I’d like to inform you about the solution: the “Strict Dates’ feature indeed solved the issue. Still don’t know why it moved the dated, but this is a fix that works around the issue. Thanks for the suggestion! Will make a donation today because of the great work your doing. Thanks for your quick support.
