Editing my rss feed file
-
I learned yesterday that what I think of as my RSS feed file is NOT one actual file but an outputted creation generated “on the fly” by wordpress.
I put podcasts on my blogsite, and have a podcast player on that site. The podcast player is capable of displaying an image or slideshow of images (as well as the list of available audio files). The instructions for adding the image are as follows:
“Q: How do I display an image on my PupuPlayer Pro?
A: Make sure you declare a namespace by replacing the first node with:
<rss version=”2.0″ xmlns:pp=”https://www.pupuplayer.com/ppexplination-rtf”>In your feed under the <item> tag just add a special tag:
<pp:media image=”https://www.mysite.com/myimage.jpg” />”My first question is this: How and where do I do this without an RSS.XML file to edit?
My second question is: Can I add other things that enhance the final RSS feed?
AND…on a slightly different subject…
Some services and features (such as GeoBlog stuff) requires me to “add this line in the<head>
section of your page” or “add this java script into the<body>
section of your page”. Where do I find those sections? These may sound like terribly lame questions from a pathetically unsophisticated user, but I assure you that I’m not. I’ve been dealing with Nucleus and other blog software that has operated somewhat differently than WordPress, and have sort of been overwhelmed by what is to me a whole new world with WordPress and possible modifications (tweaks) to get things as I would like them.
Any help would be appreciated.
