Editing multiple text changes outside of WP not working

It seems to be the problem at your hoster’s end. Check the files and folders permissions. Make sure that the permissions for files are set to 644 and for folders, it is 755.

If still the problem persists then contact your webhost. They will provide you further details.

Hi! I’m importing the updated xml file through the WP site by using the “import tool”. I do not know what you mean by checking permissions. Please advise.

The Import tool is designed to import posts from the export which do not already exist in the install, ie. as a backup of the blog or whilst being moved to a new installation.

You should really make all the edits from within WordPress for the best compatibility.

Depending on what you’re trying to accomplish, you do have a few other options: Delete the posts you’ve modified, then import the import file, this *should* import the changed posts, as long as the export file is still in a valid export format. Alternativly, if you’re doing a search-and-replace on the posts, you may find that a plugin such as Search And Replace would be a better choice.

Hi Dion! You are fabulous! It seems that there is a whole world of plug-ins out there that I didn’t know about. FUN!! Now, this will sound really silly, but I’ve installed Search and Replace yet I cannot figure out how to run it. Their site is mostly written in German, but it does show a picture of running it from a tab called “Manage”. I cannot find that tab anywhere. Do you know what I do next?
